One of the rarer stamp affixers out there is called the Lightning Stamp Affixer. It was made for the company Frank Pitchford & Company Limited out of England. It looks much like the Simplex Stamp Affixer. The plunger has little ridges on it. I am not exactly sure what the purpose of those ridges are. Could be just for cosmetics. Their motto was “By Saving Time, It Saves Money”
The Lightning Stamp Affixer was patented (GB414194) by in England with a filing date of April 24, 1933 and an acceptance date of Aug. 2, 1934. Here is the original Lightning Stamp Affixer Patent GB414194A.
Here are some of the Lightning Affixer Test Stamps
The Frank Pitchford & Company Limited also had two other patents and a fun and very helpful Daily Mail Gardening At A Glance guide.
